I heard a statistic that said that if every Christian in the world took the Gospel to the full extent of their own people group, 85% of the unreached in the world would remain unreached. We must cross borders to take the Gospel to the world.
Everyone can Pray, almost everyone can Give (and I would venture to say that if you have a computer or other device on which you’re reading this, you’re not too poor to give), and some can Go. Which are you?
Jesus said that we are to make disciples of all people groups. If you’re not involved in global missions to some extent, can you really say you’re obeying Christ’s commission to us?
In the United States, there are approximately 338,000 Protestant churches for a population of 314 million. That’s one church for every 930 people.
In Japan, there are about 7,700 Protestant churches for a population of 127.6 million people. That’s one church for every 16,570 people, and many people in Japan have no access to the Gospel at all.
Which country has the greatest need of Gospel access? And the numbers are much more staggering for places like China and Islamic countries.
I strongly urge you to become more involved in global missions. If nothing else, Jesus commanded you to. People are dying by the millions every day having never heard the Gospel. If that doesn’t bother you, you may want to ask yourself why.
Pray. Give. Go. If you’re a follower of Jesus, you can, and must, get involved.
